Bring Your Content into What Counts

Go to Content Templates View. Select the name of your newsletter template from the list.

At first you'll see the Plain Text version of your newsletter, if one exists. If you want to include a Plain Text version, there are a couple of options for how to do so. For more information, read about our Plain Text Strategies.

Now push the violet HTML tab, to switch to HTML view. You'll see the actual HTML code that makes up your newsletter here. If you're comfortable editing in HTML go ahead. For everyone else, check the WYSIWYG (stands for What You See Is What You Get) box. Now you can use a visual editior to format your newsletter.

Switch to Notepad and copy your content. Switch back to WhatCounts and paste the content from Notepad. Format this content as you would like to see in your finished newsletter. This includes all fonts, headings, and links. If you hover your mouse over any of the icons in the WYSIWYG editor, some text will appear to tell you what that icon is for.

Periodically, when you’re happy with your changes, click Update.

Click the purple Preview tab for a quick look at your newsletter. This gives a nice view of your layout, but is not the best place to test your links. You can do this under Test list (see step 6).

Return to WhatCounts, and go to ContentTemplatesView. Select the appropriate template. At the next screen, select the Plain Text tab and paste the content.

Let's move onto step 4 . . .
