The Thank You Page

After your site visitor has filled out your form and pushes submit, they will see a page thanking them for their input. Read on to learn how to customize that page.

After your site visitor has filled out your form and pushes submit, they will see a page thanking them for their input. Look in your Form Folder and you should already see a thank you page in the contents:

thank-youIt doesn't matter where the Thank You page appears in your Form Folder contents. It will always work the same, no matter its ordinal position.

By default, the thank you page only lists a summary of what the site visitor put into the form. Here's an example of what that looks like:

thank-you-default

Note: You will only see this result if you try filling out the form and pushing Submit. Otherwise you get a message that says something like "no input was received".

The above example is decent, but there will be times that you may want to say something more, or even provide a few links for your site visitor to follow. Click on the Thank You page in your list of Form Folder contents and then push edit. You should now see the familiar Title and Description fields, but at the bottom are also these:

Here's where you can control which field results to display or which ones to take out. Simply uncheck Show All Fields if you don't want to display any results on the thank you page.

Decoration

When you are editing the thank you page, notice the three links at the top: Default, Decoration and No Input. Click on Decoration to start adding text, links or images to your thank you page.

Here's a breakdown of what each of the three links on the edit thank you page are. You can also  move between these sections using Next and Previous at the bottom, next to Save and Cancel.

Once in Decoration you'll see that you actually have two places to add text, links, and images. There is the Prologue and Epilogue. If you've chosen to display any field results the Prologue content will appear before those results and the Epilogue content will appear after. If you aren't going to display field results, just use the Prologue.

No Input

Should you wish to change the No Input message (remember, if you just hit submit on your form without filling out any fields, you'll see this message) you can do so here. You have the full power of Plone's text editor so feel free to include links and/or formatted text here.
