Foundations
Nearly half of ONE/Northwest's income comes from generous foundation support. We are very appreciative and proud to be in partnership with these organizations.
Nearly half of ONE/Northwest's income comes from generous foundation support. We are very appreciative and proud to be in partnership with these organizations:
444S Foundation
444S Foundation made its first grant to ONE/Northwest in 2005 to provide operating support for ONE/Northwest’s leadership in the Organizing For Change (OFC) initiative in Vancouver, B.C. In general, the foundation provides funding to targeted national environmental organizations, collaborative campaigns, and discrete regional projects which focus on conservation of wilderness and biologically diverse natural landscapes.
Brainerd Foundation
Paul Brainerd originally founded ONE/Northwest in 1995. The Brainerd Foundation has been a large and consistent backer of the organization's work since that time, providing ONE/Northwest with unrestricted general support grants that have been critical to our ability to innovate and serve the Pacific Northwest environmental community. The foundation's backing has also been critical to ONE/Northwest's shift into a new generation of services which began in 2001.
Bullitt Foundation
The Bullitt Foundation has consistently supported ONE/Northwest's work since our inception. The Bullitt Foundation was closely involved in ONE/Northwest's founding and has played a critical role in providing unrestricted general support grants that have been critical to the development of our innovative programs. ONE/Northwest received a 5-year grant award from Bullitt for 2005-2009.
Endswell Fund of Tides Canada Foundation
The Endswell Foundation, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, is ONE/Northwest's first Canadian grantmaker. With a firm belief that BC is in a position to emerge as the most important innovator and leader in demonstrating a sustainable region, they have directed their funding in support of our Vancouver office.
Hugh & Jane Ferguson Foundation
The Hugh and Jane Ferguson Foundation has provided support to our organization several times over the last decade. It is a family foundation which is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of nature, including wildlife and their required habitats.
Lazar Foundation
The Lazar Foundation was an early backer of ONE/Northwest in 1995 and has played a critical and catalytic role in launching our offices in Oregon and in British Columbia through a series of grants since 2001.
Meyer Memorial Trust
The Meyer Memorial Trust invests in people, ideas and efforts that deliver significant social benefit to Oregon and southwest Washington. Their investments helped us to expand our staffing in Portland to better serve groups in their funding region.
M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust
In support of their mission "to enrich the quality of life in the Pacific Northwest," the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust recently made a three year grant to ONE/Northwest to support staffing for our database program area. This has enabled us to deliver database consulting and related services to connect citizens and groups in exciting and impactful new ways.
Norcross Wildlife Foundation
Recognizing the power of capacity-building organizations like ONE/Northwest in helping to further their mission of wilderness protection, the Norcross Wildlife Foundation has funded the purchase of critical hardware over the years.
Russell Family Foundation
The Russell Family Foundation has been both a funder and an advocate for ONE/Northwest since 2001. Their general operating support grants have helped us to develop and deliver innovative solutions to environmental groups in western Washington. Their advocacy has brought us many new clients and enhanced our reputation in the region.
Seattle Foundation
The Seattle Foundation is a community foundation committed to improving the quality of life in our region. ONE/Northwest received its most recent gift from the foundation in 2007.
Social Venture Partners
Social Venture Partners recently gave ONE/Northwest a multi-year general support grant and has been supportive of ONE/Northwest as we strive to define the outcomes that our organization, and those that we work with, hope to achieve.
Wiancko Family Donor Advised Fund
of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole
This family foundation was created to fulfill the philanthropic vision of Thomas Wiancko and his wife. The family trustees are careful stewards of this fund, and have chosen to support ONE/Northwest for several years.
Wilburforce Foundation
With their dedication to protecting nature's richness and diversity, the Wilburforce Foundation has been a dedicated supporter of ONE/Northwest through several significant, multi-year grants over the years. Their early general support was important to building ONE/Northwest's overall capacity to serve the Northwest environmental community. In recent years, their grant making has been directed at supporting their portfolio of grantees with websites, email newsletters and online advocacy solutions.
